Games like world of warcraft6/13/2023 You may not find Elder Scrolls Online to be a complete alternative to World of Warcraft, but there’s a lot to be explored in the world of Elder Scrolls Online, and it’s one of the best multiplayer games to try out. Elder Scrolls Online takes place on the continent of Tamriel, where you, as a player, will get to choose to be a part of one of the three factions. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is available now for PC.It’s a fantasy game that draws inspiration from various different worlds. Other MMOs can learn a lot from how World of Warcraft's transmog helps invigorate players’ enjoyment and motivation. Great lengths are taken to make each one as remarkable a spectacle as possible to be a great incentive for players to participate in end-game group content. Each tier’s look not only reflects the theme of that season’s raid, but also the flavors of the classes they’re made for. However, one thing that these raid sets never pass up on is their vibrancy, detail, and true fantasy feel. For example, when a new raid arrives, armor pieces from varying difficulty levels will have specific color pallets. Multiple colors are released for each piece, and they need to be collected from different sources rather than dyed. Another drawback is that pieces of armor or weaponry can’t be recolored. It can become pricey to constantly change a character’s transmog back and forth, for example, but generally this is pocket change for even those players whose gold is earned passively. There are some limitations to World of Warcraft’s transmog system, however. These special transmog sets require nothing more than playing the game, as all World of Warcraft activities contribute to the Trading Post’s reward structure. These are unique, never-before-seen appearances that are immediately added to a player’s account and usable on all characters. With the addition of World of Warcraft’s Trading Post, a whole new batch of cosmetic items have been offered to players. This addition feels like a loophole, but considering it came toward the end of the raid tier, it’s likely just a way for players to mop up the appearances they might have missed. Alongside the Revival Catalyst, which functions the same way as the Creation Catalyst, players can now collect the normal and heroic transmog sets for all classes with ease. In Dragonflight, Patch 10.0.7 added a catch-up mechanic for players to gear up their alts. Not only does this give players the much-desired tier set bonuses to increase their power, but it also hands out the transmogs for use anywhere else. With the addition of the Creation Catalyst in the final patch of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, players who earned gear from any activity - be it dungeons, PvP, or questing - could transform it into a raid piece. Transmog collectors had to put in a ton of effort to collect them all, but recently Blizzard made that process much easier. The most desirable outfits are the Elite PvP sets and the Mythic difficulty raid sets, the former of which is only available for a short time. Most transmogs are fairly easy to get, but the best-looking ones usually require a lot of effort and a bit of luck. RELATED: World of Warcraft Dragonflight: The Primal Incarnates Have a Secret Weapon World of Warcraft Has Set the Standard for Transmogs in MMOs Most pieces are also not class-bound and can be applied to multiple if not all classes in the game. Instead of having to collect a special currency or ability, appearances are automatically collected the moment any piece enters a player’s inventory. While games like Destiny 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Final Fantasy 14 all have similar transmog systems, World of Warcraft arguably takes the cake in giving players the most choice. More recently, World of Warcraft has introduced even more ways to get ahold of the juiciest transmogs. Players dedicate huge amounts of time and effort into making their character look perfect, and the sheer number of available appearances provide endless choices. World of Warcraft first introduced a transmogrification system in the Mists of Pandaria expansion, and it has been one of the most beloved aspects of the game since.

Jelly defense exhaust6/13/2023 Mammalian embryos experience two major cycles of epigenetic reprograming including the periods of germ cell development and preimplantation, during which the epigenome is vulnerable to endogenous and exogenous environmental factors. The epigenome refers to the complete description of all these potentially heritable changes across the genome, among which DNA methylation and covalent modifications of histones are the most important epigenetic regulations that have been well studied. Histone modifications are a diverse array of post-translational modifications that often occur on tail domains of histone proteins, including acetylation, phosphorylation, methylation, ubiquitination, sumoylation, and adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-ribosylation. DNA methylation is almost exclusively found in CpG sites, which are regions of DNA where a cytosine nucleotide occurs next to a guanine nucleotide in the liner sequence of bases along its length, in mammals. DNA methylation generally refers to a process by which methyl groups are added to the 5-carbon of the cytosine ring resulting in 5-methylcytosine (5mC). Certain chemical modifications to DNA, histone protein and RNA, and non-coding RNAs form a complex regulatory network that modulates the chromatin conformation and gene expression. It was first defined by Conrad Waddington in the 1940s as “…the interactions of genes with their environment which bring the phenotype into being”, which provides a potential mechanism through which the environmental factors interact with intrinsic factors and have an impact on gene regulation. Epigenetics refer to mitotically or meiotically heritable changes in gene expression without a change in the DNA sequence. Accumulating evidence strongly suggests that environmental pollution is seriously affecting human health.Įpidemiological studies suggest that early life, especially prenatal, exposure to environmental factors can induce persistent metabolic and physiological changes in the fetus through the altered epigenetic profiles leading to different susceptibility to various chronic diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular, diabetes, and even cancer in later life. Another recent set of data from WHO shows that in 2012, environmental risk factors, such as air, water and soil pollution, chemical exposures, climate change, and ultraviolet radiation caused 12.6 million deaths, which involve more than 100 diseases and injuries. This review will primarily focus on the causes and consequences of prenatal environment pollution exposure on the epigenome, and the potential protective role of the epigenetics diet, which could play a central role in neutralizing epigenomic aberrations against environmental pollutions.Ī report by the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that 1.8 billion children (around 93% of the world’s children) breathe polluted air every day, leading to 600,000 children who died from acute lower respiratory infections in 2016. The epigenetics diet, referring to a class of bioactive dietary compounds such as isothiocyanates in broccoli, genistein in soybean, resveratrol in grape, epigallocatechin-3-gallate in green tea, and ascorbic acid in fruits, has been shown to modify the epigenome leading to beneficial health outcomes. Moreover, mounting evidence now links such pollution to relevant modification in the epigenome. From atmospheric pollution, endocrine-disrupting chemicals to heavy metals, research increasingly suggests that environmental pollutions have already produced significant consequences on human health. Early-life epigenetic modifications, which determine the expression of genetic information stored in the genome, are viewed as one of the general mechanisms linking prenatal exposure and phenotypic changes later in life. Exposure to environmental factors such as nutrition, climate, stress, pathogens, toxins, and even social behavior during gametogenesis and early embryogenesis has been shown to influence disease susceptibility in the offspring. It is thought that germ cells and preimplantation embryos during development are most susceptible to endogenous and exogenous environmental factors because the epigenome in those cells is undergoing dramatic elimination and reconstruction.

Subscription music tablatures6/13/2023 As one survey shows, the share of people who spend money on music is considerably higher among people in their 20s than among older age cohorts. While the Japanese music market is one of the largest in the world, the willingness to spend money on music is not distributed equally throughout the population. At the same time, many people use YouTube and other freely available sources in order to listen to songs. Survey data show that subscription-based music streaming services have become one of the most commonly used methods of listening to music among Japanese consumers. As a result of these developments, the subscription-based streaming sales revenue of online music has shown strong growth rates in recent years. Spotify then followed in 2016 and YouTube Music in 2018. Ltd., an internet company that is part of the media business of CyberAgent, Inc., released its AWA streaming service. During the same year, LINE Corporation, the operator of Japan’s most widely used instant messenger, started to offer LINE Music, and AWA Co. Apple Music, Google Play Music, and Amazon Prime Music were all released in 2015. Music streaming services have become increasingly adopted by Japanese consumers in recent years, as the entry of several foreign companies into the Japanese market in the mid-2010s has spurred on the competition between service providers. Increasing adoption of streaming services Amazon Prime Music was followed by Spotify and Apple Music. According to an online survey conducted in October 2020 among users of subscription music streaming services, the most used service was Amazon Prime Music with 569 respondents.

Disadvantages of flextime6/12/2023 Organisations may increase flexible working to improve work-life balance and in turn retention.īut if parents take flexible working thinking it will lead to them spending more time with children, they may end up disappointed.īaxter (2011) found that while flexible working benefits parents because of how it allows them to distribute their time, it doesn’t automatically increase the time they spend with children. Flexible working may not increase parental time with children Hegewisch (2009) said that the methods of flexible working available to managers are most likely to be those that don’t reduce the number of hours worked, such as flexitime.įor Jones & Jones (2011), this issue is tied with gender: men are more likely to have requests for flexible working rejected because they are more likely to be in management positions that “do not lend themselves” to reduced hours or working away from the office. In the CIPD Flexible Working Outlook 2016, junior managers were the least likely group to work flexibly (42% used at least one form of flexible working), compared to 57% of employees with no management responsibility. Flexible working may be perceived as less available to managersīack in 2004, the CIPD said that managers self-reported a lower level of flexibility inherent to their jobs, which may explain why they are less likely to request flexible working. Flexible working may be perceived as career-limitingīrandth and Elin Kvande (2001) found that male uptake of flexible working leave was inhibited by concerns about whether it would impact their career or not.įurthermore, research from 2013 found that men were more likely to choose flexible working options that did not impact on face-time: there’s a good chance this is due to fears of a detrimental effect on their career. Hooker et al (2007) found that parenthood had little effect on a man’s propensity towards flexible working, but a large effect on a woman’s.Īnd it’s not just that men are less likely to request flexible working: they are also less likely to have their requests accepted. Women are more likely to request flexible working than men, parents are more likely to request flexible working than non-parents, and mothers are more likely to request flexible working than fathers. Flexible working may not help address the gender divideĭespite a rise in flexible working requests between 20, the gender balance between them did not change. Flexible working could increase conflict between work and home domainsĮmployees working from home may experience increased conflict between their work and home lives because they are in effect ‘available’ to both domains at the same time.įurther conflict may arise due to the removal of social connections with the workplace: the employee may feel ‘out of the loop’ with goings-on in the workplace, with associated feelings of loneliness and disengagement creeping in. Just under half (45%) of the 1400 people surveyed by Orange Business Services said that working flexibly meant working more on weekends and evenings, so it’s important that organisations realise that those working flexibly may be at a higher risk of burnout. We’ve discussed before the importance of setting boundaries in flexible working policies and managing by outcome in order to mitigate the potential for people to work more than if they maintained regular hours. While technology can empower people to work flexibly, it also blurs the boundaries between work time and leisure time. Flexible working may actually cause people to work more Of course, there’s no actual link between ‘face time’ and performance, but it’s the cognitive bias of giving preference to the observable that is responsible for the above effect, which can lead to disengagement, friction between employee and manager and reduced trust. Research suggests employees physically observed by managers are judged to be more productive, given better performance evaluations and receive more promotions than those working off-site. But, there are also potential drawbacks and actions that we will discuss.įlexible working may worsen perceptions of performance Increasing access to flexible working is a great thing for individual health, organisational success and the place of work in society. There is a positive correlation with higher levels of organisational commitment and job satisfaction. It is clear that there is value of flexible working in the workplace. Even back in 1997, we found that in every EU country the use of flexible working in all its forms was increasing, and that there was no sign this had peaked.

Ibelieve com scripture writing challenge6/12/2023 Friends, the seeds you plant and what you desire for it to grow into, God wants to do MORE than we can even imagine with that seed. In today’s Scripture, it tells us that “He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” ( Ephesians 3:20). If God met all your expectations the moment you planted a seed, we would have no need for Him and He would have no need to far EXCEED our expectations. And that just means the deeper the healing and blessings. The deeper the root, the deeper the blessings. Sometimes we need to plant more seeds into something deeper than other things. And every seed you plant today, will grow into fruit in the future.Ģ. Remember, it takes time for seeds to grow. Our job is to leave it to God and leave it alone. If you're feeling the same way, I want to share these three truths with you:ġ. I’ve learned some valuable lessons this past year as I’ve been planting, but haven’t seen the fruit yet. Planted seeds in my marriage and friendships. I’ve planted seeds in my calling of writing. This year, I’ve planted a lot of seeds as I’ve grown deeper in my relationship with the Lord. Are you planting seeds of prayer daily fighting vehement cries for your child or loved one who has gone astray and is not walking with the Lord, only to find them in more sin walking in what seems to be the opposite direction of the seeds you are planting? Take the plunge, and let’s read through the Bible together.“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” - Ephesians 3:20Īre you tired? Tired of putting in the work and not seeing the fruits of your labor? Are you day in and day out working and hoping to get that raise or promotion? Or perhaps you are planting seeds of kindness into your marriage, friendships, or neighbors, only to get met in return with harshness. Grab a buddy and join us on The Daily Bible Podcast. We're here to sum up each day's passage and provide action steps. Reading the Bible every day can be a challenge. We're Tricia and Michelle, two friends inviting you to join us in reading through the Bible chronologically this year. Her writing has been published by Focus on the Family, Decision, Today’s Christian Woman,, ,, and more. She enjoys writing about faith, marriage, parenting, relationships, and life. Lynette Kittle is married with four daughters. No matter how unstable the world becomes, Psalm 23:6 describes God’s faithfulness to you stating, “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” If you feel it’s all up to you to survive, choose rather to believe what Psalm 54:4 assures that, “Surely God is my help the Lord is the one who sustains me.” Like Isaiah 65:24 describes, “Before they call I will answer while they are still speaking I will hear.” Take comfort in realizing God already sees what you need before you ask. If so, Matthew 6:8 describes how your Father in Heaven knows what you need even before you ask Him. Or maybe you’re not focused on world events but consumed with worry about just meeting your daily needs. Maybe though you’re not even sure why you feel so anxious? If so, Psalm 139:23 encourages you to ask, “Search me, God, and know my heart test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Likewise, Psalm 55:22 states, “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you He will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 50:15 instructs to “Call on me in the day of trouble I will deliver, and you will honor me.” I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”īy choosing to trust God and follow His strategy for living rather than depending on an ever-changing, unpredictable, shaky humanity, you’ll begin to see your anxiety and worry level disappear. Psalm 91:2 encourages you to look to the Lord as your refuge and fortress, trusting in Him rather than what is happening in the world.Īs Isaiah 41:10 urges, “So do not fear, for I am with you do not be dismayed, for I am your God. Scripture explains the key to living anxiety-free is to instead of focusing on turbulent times, to turn your thoughts to prayer, petition, and thankfulness to God( Philippians 4:6). In this type of cultural climate, you may ask, “How is this possible to even live worry-free in the present-day atmosphere?” Still, God urges, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” ( 1 Peter 5:7). This continual source creates an atmosphere of uncertainty, wondering what will happen next, causing millions to live on the edge of the possibilities. Like many, you may feel overwhelmed with social media’s constant updates on changing world events. Worry and anxiety seem to be at an all-time high. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? – Matthew 6:27 |
